Joanne Hamilton Martin
Director RAD RTS AISTD CFT STOTT PILATES
Joanne started dancing when she was three years old and went on to sit exams in Ballet, Modern, Disco and Tap.
At the age of 17 Joanne attended Edinburgh’s Theatre School of Dance and Drama where she successfully completed the 3-year professional dancer's course and gained teaching qualifications for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).
In 1999 Joanne began her career as a professional dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines. Throughout her contracts she performed in Las Vegas style cabaret and magic shows whilst traveling the Caribbean and the U.S.A.
Joanne’s love of dance and fitness led her on to qualify as a Certified Fitness Instructor with the International Sports Sciences Association and further study into the STOTT method of Pilates. Joanne completed her Exercise to Music and has become a BTS Fitness Instructor with Edinburgh Leisure teaching Bodyjam, Bodyattack and Bodypump. In 2010 joanne started delivering Zumba, ZumbAtomic and Zumba Tonig at The Dance Room.
Paula Sims
Cheer Coach / Dance Teacher / Zumba Instructor
Paula has danced from the age of 2 and has taken exams to an advanced level in RAD ballet, ISTD modern, tap and jazz. As well as dancing Paula was also a competitive cheerleader for 10 years and recently competed in Florida at the world championships as part of team Scotland in their cheer, jazz and pom dance teams. Cheerleading became a passion and she is now a fully qualified coach and is currently undertaking judge’s exams for both cheer and dance. After leaving school Paula also attained a Bsc in psychology and is now in her 2nd year of HND health, fitness and exercise as well as being a qualified Zumba Instructor.
Julie Kendrew
Dance Teacher / Zumba Instructor
Julie has a great passion for dance; she started ballet at the age of 2, and became a pupil at JHM when she was 15. Teaching came naturally to Julie and after becoming a student teacher at the school decided that teaching was going to become her full time career. She is now completing her BA Honours in Dance at Performing Arts Studio Scotland. Julie is teaching at our Kirkliston Branch and our Saturday Dance Room classes. She is looking forward to working at JHM where her love of teaching began.
Kayleigh Noon

Kayleigh has been dancing since a very young age and started with JHM from the very beginning when the first Broxburn branch opened, studying all areas of Dance. After assisting classes for a few years she started to work in the studio when it first opened in January 2009. Kayleigh really enjoys working within the fantastic atmosphere at The Dance Room. Since leaving Broxburn Academy after 6 very successful years receiving the school Dux award in 5th year and 7 highers Kayleigh, who is a very passionate Dancer, hopes to carry on her dancing throughout her MA Honours degree in Business at Edinburgh University.
Coreen Docherty

Coreen started dancing with JHM in 2006 studying , ballet, modern & tap. She has a great love of dance and enjoys being on stage and performing. Since leaving 6th year in June she has started collage studying beauty and is training as a nail technician whilst continuing to work in The Dance Room on a Monday and Tuesday.
Eilidh Sayers

Eilidh has been dancing at JHM since it opened in 2003. She joined JHM Cheer in 2008 wihch she is very passionate about. She is currently in her 5th year at Broxburn Academy sitting a mixture of highers and intermediate two’s. Eilidh has been a class room assistant for many years now which she really enjoys and hopes to work with children in the future.
Ashleigh Gorman

Ashleigh Joined JHM Cheer in 2008. She has competed with the senior squad 3 times with great results. Ashleigh also assists with the youth squad on a Thursday night. She is currently studying for her highers at St Margaret’s Academy and hopes to go to University to study medicine.
Bethany White
Shop
Bethany has been dancing for 13 years and with JHM for 6. Studying Ballet, jazz and contemporary. Higher dance is one of her chosen subjects at South Queensferry High School. On completion of high school Bethany is keen to teach dance. She started working at The Dance Room in 2010.
