Joanne Hamilton Martin - Director RAD RTS AISTD CFT STOTT PILATES

Joanne started dancing when she was three years old and went on to sit exams in Ballet, Modern, Disco and Tap.

At the age of 17 Joanne attended Edinburgh’s Theatre School of Dance and Drama where she succesfully completed the 3-year professional dancer's course and gained teaching qualifications for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).

In 1999 Joanne began her career as a professional dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines. Throughout her contracts she performed in Las Vegas style cabaret and magic shows whilst traveling the Caribbean and the U.S.A.

Joanne’s love of dance and fitness led her on to qualify as a Certified Fitness Instructor with the International Sports Sciences Association and further study into the STOTT method of Pilates. Joanne completed her Exercise to Music and has become a BTS Fitness Instructor with Edinburgh Leisure teaching Bodyjam, Bodyattack and Bodypump.

JHM Dance Academy’s first branch was opened in April 2003 in Kincardine and since then the school has grown into many branches in Tillicoultry, Broxburn, Winchburgh and Kirkliston, South Queensferry and Alloa
